| Scroll down to click on cantor and handbell schedules. Student choir and handbell instruction is gained through the Thursday music class at St. John Catholic School. Students, grades K through 6, sing for one school Advent/Christmas concert and usually a school Spring concert. Students in grades 4, 5, 6 also sing in cantor groups and play handbells for Wednesday and Friday 8:00 AM school Masses. ALL students in grades 5 - 12 (regardless of what school they go to) are invited each year to sing or play for the Christmas Eve Family Mass (usually around 4:30 PM--but one should call the church office for the exact Christmas Mass times: 574-533-3385.) Student cantors & handbell ringers regularly sing and play at the Student 8:00 AM Masses on Wednesdays and Fridays. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE SCHEDULE FOR STUDENT PSALMISTS, CANTORS AND SERVERS. Some cantors choose to sing individually the psalm, while others choose to sing the communion song within a "cantor group". Others are gifted at playing the handbells. Student Handbell Ringers: Students in grades 2 through 6 received training in rhythm and group ensembles by playing handbells in the Thursday music class. Grades 4 through 6 play in alternating groups for Wednesday and Friday 8:00 AM school Masses. CLICK HERE to see which handbell group is playing for a particular school Mass.
